3* Hotel 5* Experience 5/5

Waterhall Country House Hotel seems confused as to what should be, from the outside the house is a tranquil typically english country home on the inside it seems to struggle between Hotel and Pub. The hotel does have a hotel feel but looks like M & B decorated it ready to convert it into a carvery at a later date.

The rooms are medium size (ours had a fantastic view of the aircraft crossing the bottom of the garden as they made the final approach into Gatwick – No4)

Unfortunately the room was rather cold and the large modern bathroom sub zero, the size of the radiators struggle to warm the rooms, another issue is the TV’s in the bedroom, they are placed around 9ft from the ground on a shelf (Believe it or not 14″ TV’s, no flat screens here, maintains the oldy worldy feel) this means you have to lie on the bed to watch TV!

Having said all the above, the service excells at this hotel and is better than I have received at some of the worlds top hotels, from the moment you check in to the moment you collect your car at either Waterhall or the Ifield the service is 1st class.

Breakfast in the conservatory is also a delight as you watch the aircraft cross the lawn into Gatwick, yet never here any noise?

At the price charged for the service received this would take some beating at any airport in the UK.
